Classic WWII Nazi Mkd. P38 Walther Military 9MM Pistol
  • Offered here and just acquired is this a classic WWII N.AZI MARKED Walther P38 9MM Pistol. Serial number 8312e its AC 44 stamp identifies the maker as Walther, and the 44 denotes the year of manufacture. Barrel length for the Walther P38 is approximately 4.92 inches. The E/359 or eagle-over-359 stamp is the Waffenamt inspection mark, indicating acceptance by Wehrmacht inspectors at the Walther factory. There is an Arrow or Horizontal “V” Forward of “P.38”. This marking often appears as a small arrow (horizontal “V”) in front of the “P.38” text. It’s typically a commercial import mark applied by U.S. importers—your “C.A.I.” mark confirms it was imported to the U.S. by Centurion Arms International (or a similar importer) post-war.
The specimen retains mucxh of its original finish with a very nice bore. It has late?war machining roughness or pin?prick patina, typical of the relatively less refined wartime finish.“Matching number, very good condition… not all that ‘common’ today and a good find for a collector.”
This P38 is a solid, authentic AC44 Walther pistol made in 1944 with matching numbers, correct acceptance stamps, and intact factory finish. The import mark and arrow detail add provenance, showing it was legally brought into the U.S. This pistol checks all the boxes for historical accuracy and is a great specimen for both collectors and historical shooters.
