History of the Model:
The Carl Gustaf G33/50 is a Swedish Mauser variant built at the Carl Gustafs Stads Gevärsfaktori arsenal in Eskilstuna, Sweden. The 6.5x55mm cartridge, adopted in 1894, became famous for its flat trajectory, excellent accuracy, and light recoil. The Swedes, meticulous in their craftsmanship, produced some of the finest Mauser-pattern rifles ever made, using high-grade Swedish steel that has stood the test of time.
The G33/50 was essentially a modernized version of the earlier M96 long rifle, shortened for handier use in the field. Many were arsenal-upgraded from earlier rifles during the 1930s and 1940s, receiving improved sights, handier barrels, and other refinements. These rifles served Sweden well into the mid-20th century and are now prized among collectors and shooters alike for their quality, accuracy, and historic value.
