The Uberti Schofield is a high-quality reproduction of the famous Smith & Wesson Model 3 Schofield revolver, a top-break single-action revolver originally produced in the late 1800s. The original Schofield gained fame as a cavalry sidearm and was used by the U.S. Army in the 1870s–1880s. Uberti, an Italian manufacturer well known for its historically accurate Old West replicas, produces faithful reproductions of this revolver.

Action: Single-action, top-break revolver with automatic star extractor for faster reloading compared to Colt-style revolvers.
Finish Options: Blued steel with case-hardened frame, or nickel-plated. Grips are pearl ( not real pearl ),
Capacity: 6 rounds.
Design: Top-break with a latch at the rear of the frame; opening the revolver simultaneously ejects spent casings.
The original Schofield was preferred by some cavalry units because it was faster to reload on horseback compared to Colt’s Single Action Army.
Famous outlaws and lawmen, including Jesse James and Pat Garrett, were known to carry them.
The .45 Schofield cartridge could be used in both Schofields and Colts, but the longer .45 Colt cartridge would not fit in the Schofield—this influenced Army ammunition supply decisions
