This is a splendid Remington Model 513-T Matchmaster Bolt Rifle in .22 Long Rifle, manufactured by Remington Arms Company in Ilion, New York. The serial number 135359 places production in the 1940s to 1950s, as the Model 513-T was produced from 1940 to 1968, with serial numbers in this range corresponding to the earlier decades. Designed for target shooting, the Model 513-T (Target) is renowned for its accuracy and robust construction, featuring a 27" heavy target semi-floating barrel, an adjustable Matchmaster trigger, and a walnut stock with a checkered steel butt plate. Approximately 137,302 Model 513s were manufactured, with the “T” variant used by the U.S. Army and ROTC for training during World War II, some marked “U.S. PROPERTY.” Its historical significance lies in its role in smallbore competitions and military training, offering precision that rivals modern target rifles. The .22 LR cartridge ensures affordability and versatility for marksmanship.

This example is in very fine condition, retaining most of its original blue finish with minimal wear. The bright bore indicates excellent maintenance and limited use. The varnished walnut stock, equipped with sling swivels and a checkered steel butt plate, shows a few handling blemishes but remains solid and attractive. The 17A front globe sight and target rear receiver sight with a large eye cup are in excellent condition, ready for competitive shooting or display. The 5-round detachable factory-marked magazine is included, and the action operates properly, ensuring reliability. All markings, including “REMINGTON ARMS CO., INC., ILION, N.Y.” and “MATCHMASTER” on the barrel, are crisp and legible. As a Curio & Relic firearm, it is eligible for direct shipment to C&R license holders.
