Description:
An iconic rimfire rifle, the Marlin Model 60—also known as the Marlin/Glenfield Model 60—is a favorite of many rimfire enthusiasts and a must-have for collectors of such rifles. The Model 60 is a rimfire rifle mostly chambered for .22 rimfire calibers and operated by blowback energy. The rifle is fed by a tubular magazine, as most common with lever- and pump-action firearms and bleeding into the common .22 rifles of the post-war era. While many various rimfire .22 rifle manufacturers and models existed in the years post-WWII, a few managed to stand out from the crowd and maintain a legendary status among shooters—the Marlin Model 60 included. For sale is a used—but in nearly-new condition—Model 60W. The 60W variant was chambered for only .22 Long Rifle and was available through shooting clubs and some retailers as a "Friends of the NRA" edition. The rifles feature a plain matte walnut stock inlaid with a gold medallion depicting a young shooter and instructor with the words, "Safety, Ethics, & Sportsmanship" proud from the surface. The trigger is grooved and gold-plated. Otherwise, the rifle is largely the same as other production Model 60s, with a 22" barrel with Marlin's iconic micro-groove rifling and a 14-round tube magazine. The sights are comprised of a barrel-mounted elevator-adjustable rear sight paired with a fixed front Patridge blade sight with serrated ramp. The receiver also has a 3/8" rimfire scope rail for attaching optics. This rifle is in nearly new condition, even with original stickers attached to the stock. The barrel is flawless and the action operates perfectly. The stock has a few very light handling marks, but are rather insignificant.
