Description: FN BROWNING AUTO 5 LIGHT TWELVE - MADE IN BELGIUM 1949 - GAME SCENE & SCROLL ENGRAVED MANUFACTURER - FN HERTSAL - BELGIUM MODEL - AUTO 5 LIGHT TWELVE ACTION - SEMI-AUTO SN - 274622 GAUGE - 12 GAUGE 2.75" CHOKES - MODIFIED .023" OF RESTRICTION CAPACITY – 4+1 DAC - 1.5" DAH - 2.125" LOP - 15" TO FN BROWNING AUTO-5 BUTTPLATE WEIGHT - 7 LB 15 OZ BARREL LENGTH - 25.5" PRODUCED - 1949 SIGHTS - VENTMATTED RIB WITH GOLD FRONT BEAD Here is a handsome and early example of the FN Browning Auto-5 Light Twelve, made in Belgium in 1949 and factory engraved with game scenes and scrollwork. This semi-auto 12 gauge wears a 25.5" vent-ribbed barrel, choked Modified at .023", and chambers 2.75". The gun balances well at 7 lb 15 oz and comes to the shoulder with a 15" length of pull to the original FN Browning Auto-5 buttplate. Drops measure 1.5" at comb and 2.125" at heel. The coin-finished action shows beautiful period engraving, with the right side depicting two snipes landing in a field surrounded by scrollwork, the left side featuring four ducks in flight framed by scrolling accents, and additional engraving carried onto the top tang and back of the receiver. The barrel retains about 90% of its original blued finish with thinning at typical high points. Mechanically the gun is excellent. The bore is clear, the action runs smoothly, and the trigger breaks crisply. The straight-grip walnut stock and forend have sharp checkering and a dark, streaked grain pattern that complements the engraved receiver. A very good, Belgian-made, postwar Auto-5 with desirable engraving—an elegant piece of Browning history that is both collectible and ready for the field. FLAT $50 S/H/I. 4%CREDIT CARD FEE APPLIES.
