This is a handsome, Remington-made rifle that has a 2-44 dated, "RA" two-groove barrel and retains 95-97% of the arsenal-applied parkerized finish on the barrel, receiver, and trigger guard. There is some silvering and fading at the muzzle, a few small spots of surface oxidation on the receiver at the rear wall of the receiver ring. The bolt has about 70-75% of the parkerizing remaining, with the balance silvered, mostly along the body and bearing surfaces, and the stock furniture and magazine cut-off retain a commensurate amount of Du-Lite blue. The walnut stock and handguard are in fine condition with minor handling marks scattered about the added oil finish. A crisp Ogden Arsenal rework stamp is present on the left side of the buttstock, and the Remington factory stamps on the underside of the forend are still faintly visible. This is a desirable WW2 Remington ‘03-A3, arsenal reworked to fine condition, and would make a great addition to any collection. FFL or C&R; SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
