Description:
This is a great looking Winchester Model 12, 16 ga., Skeet model. Pre War - made in 1940. It is pretty rare to find a 16 ga skeet, most were 12's and 20's. The barrel was shortened at some point, it is approx. 23 1/2" long with a straight cylinder bore. It is short, fast and quick pointing. It is fine as is, but might be a good candidate for screw in chokes for some versatility. The wood is beautiful, highly figured with a deep warm color. The wood does show some light use marks and minor scattered impressions. The receiver blueing shows some flaking and spotty wear, but is good overall. The actions works perfectly, the bore is bright and clean. Overall an attractive Model 12 - If the barrel wasn't shortened this gun would be $800 - $1000 more. ****** This must ship to a FFL, or C&R license. Check or certified funds preferred - Thank you!
