Description:
Serial #6054, 7.7mm Arisaka, 31" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a very handsome, no series mark rifle that has matching numbers on the receiver, bolt, extractor, safety, firing pin, and early type three-screw nosecap. The metal retains 92-95% of the original blue finish, with some silvering along the high edges and projections, along the bearing surfaces of the bolt, and some toning to gray-brown along the magazine floorplate and trigger guard. All markings are still crisp and clear, and there is some light defacing of the Chrysanthemum on the receiver. The original rear sight with AA wings (correct for the type: wider wings than later production Type 99 sights, and notched on both sides) is still in place, however neither a monopod, nor dust cover is included. The stock and handguard have minor handling marks and blemishes scattered about the otherwise very good military oil finish, with a series of moderate bruises in the wood throughout. There is a very slight separation of the two-piece buttstock on the right side at the buttplate, and the forend is duffel-cut under the barrel band. An original metal cleaning rod is present. This is a great looking Type 99 Long Rifle, in very good plus condition, and would make a fine addition to any collection. FFL or C&R;
