Main differences: 92FS vs M9 vs Vertec
92FS vs M9: Largely the same mechanically. “M9" is the military designation. The 92FS introduced improvements over older 92F designs (modern safety/decocker, firing-pin safety, small refinements). M9 spec may include military finish, checkering, magazines and hardware to MIL-SPEC.
Vertec vs 92FS/M9: Vertec changes are primarily ergonomic: different grip shape (flatter backstrap & different finger groove area), sometimes a lower bore axis and a squared trigger guard for modern two-handed holds. Controls may be slightly different to allow different accessory/optics options. Mechanically it remains the 92 pattern.
