Description:
For anyone who is a collector of USMC guns or military trainers this is a must have.  They literally do not get any rarer than this.  This gun is serial number X002.  Serial #1 is at the Shooters Outpost Museum in Hooksett, NH.  Serial #1 was built as a select fire weapon, but this gun is semi auto only and is a C&R weapon.  I am putting a link below to a video done by Forgotten Weapons on serial #1 which you can watch.  These guns are very similar but do have a few differences.  These guns were both built by H&R for submission to the Marine Corps as Trainer/Simulators for the M-14 battle rifle.  They were not purchased nor adopted so were not put into production and as such are extremely rare prototypes.  The only two known to exist.

This gun was built on the Harrington & Richardson Model 65 receiver in 22 Long Rifle with an M-14 stock and lots of M-14 furniture to replicate the look and feel of an M-14.  It has the correct folding butt plate, correct hand guards, correct flash hider and bayonet lug and sling.  Cosmetically it looks and feels like an M-14.  H&R proposed these to the USMC as a way to train Marines with cheaper and easier to use 22LR ammo with a realistic M-14 trainer size and shaped rifle.  H&R had success in and after WWII with their 22LR model MC-58 and MC-65's so they thought this was a natural progression and logical money maker for the company.

This gun is in overall excellent condition with 98% or more of the original bluing remaining.  There is no pitting or rust.  There are a few small dings on the stock, but these are very minor.  I have not fired this gun, but all function checks are perfect, and I have high confidence that this gun is fully functional.  This rifle comes with one factory correct and original H&R magazine which seems to be original to the rifle.

As shown in the photos the gun has the following markings.
( X002 )  ( SIMULATOR-M14 ) ( SAFE FIRE )
( Model 65-H&R REISING 22 CAL

I am a C&R holder and this is a C&R gun.  I can ship this to another C&R holder or to your FFL.
Reasonable offers entertained.  Will possibly trade for Pre86 transferable machine guns.
I will gladly take a personal check but will delay shipping by one week until the check clears. I can also take several forms of electronic payment.  I can offer a payment plan with a deposit if desired.  Email  with questions or if more info is needed.    jeffjamccapital
