Offered here and just acquired from the home of the Ruger Collectors Assc (RCA) and just blocks away from the former Ruger factory in Southport, Ct is this superb early NEW IN BOX Ruger 10-22 .22 rifle SERIAL NUMBER 262 certainly made in the first few weeks of production in 1964.
The RCA was co-founded in 1975 by Stephen K. Vogel and John R. Hansen, Jr. It is described as an independent organization of collectors of Sturm, Ruger & Co. firearms and memorabilia — not affiliated with, nor sponsored by, the Ruger company.
At its founding it aimed to provide accurate information about Ruger firearms, variations, production dates, serial numbers, etc.
The RCA’s mission: “to study and preserve Ruger firearms and memorabilia while promoting camaraderie and fellowship among those interested in collecting and exchanging information.”
It publishes bulletins/quarterly journals for members, offers information on factory variations and historical data.
This specimen is 100% UNFIRED and comes in its original factory box with a SCARCE SALES/Marketing banner which is A SCARCE COLLECTIBLE IN ITS OWN RIGHT.
