The Walther PP, or Polizeipistole, was designed by the German company Walther in 1929 as a police pistol. It gained popularity for its reliability and features like a double-action trigger and a safety/decocker, leading to its adoption by German police, military, and intelligence agencies. The smaller PPK variant was introduced in 1931 for more concealable use, and the PP series was used throughout the war and remained in production afterward, becoming iconic through its association with James Bond and other films.
