Description:
While the Winchester 1866 and 1873 were the real "guns that won the West," the Model 92 was nearly as popular. The action was based upon the Model 1886, and they were chambered in popular "pistol" cartridges which reduced logistics on the plains as owners only needed one cartridge to feed both a short and a long gun. Hollywood helped the image by using them in many movies and John Wayne was famous for his large loop '92. This is actually manufactured by Miroku to the Browning company order, and fits the John Browning design, albeit with modern materials and production values. It is short, light, and fast, and chambered in .357 Magnum so is kind of an ideal pest control rifle for farm and ranch, being "enough" for even deer sized critters at short range. Paired with a SAA chambered in .357 mag, it would a great rifle for Cowboy Action Shooting. .357 Magnum
