Description:
A U.S. Civil War Military Issued Model 1863 Zouave Rifle Dated 1863 In Very Good Untouched Condition. All original and complete. The rifle has good metal and markings throughout. The barrel on the rifle is fine throughout and clearly dated 1863 on the tang area. It also has a "VP & Eagle" on the left side below the date on the barrel. There is a light brown natural patina on it. The lock is lightly peppered throughout and only the eagle on it is visible. The hammer has a plum color on it. The brass bands, trigger guard, patch box, and "U.S." marked butt plate are all in nice condition with a fine color to them. The original wood on the rifle is very nice throughout and has a fine natural color to it. There are two clear :U.S. Inspectors Cartouches" on the backside of the wood opposite the lock. The rifle has a fine bore and fine action in it. This Is A Nice Original Example Of A U.S. Civil War Military Issued Model 1863 Zouave Rifle Dated 1863!
