32104-EARLY PENNSYLVANIA REV WAR FLINTLOCK MOUNTED MILITIA OFFICER’S HOLSTER PISTOL CIRCA 1790’s. 13 ½” overall with 7 ¾” brass .58 caliber smoothbore round import barrel stamped “London” and proofed at left breech. Warranted import lock stamped “A.W. SPIES” for the New York dealer and importer. Original flintlock and not a reconversion. Walnut stock and brass mounts with distinctive “Philadelphia” open work form. Identical to several known Philadelphia produced pistols by Samuel Coutty. Very good overall with nice metal with old brass patina. Wood with the original finish. Lock in working order and very good bore. For identical except as noted see “HISTORIC PISTOLS-The American Martial Flintlock 1760-1845”, pages 74 and 75. Very scarce. $2200
