True to Henry form, the Side Gate Lever Action boasts unrivaled material quality and a level of craftsmanship rarely seen in other modern firearms. The hardened brass receiver is as robust as it is handsome, and the brass accents continue throughout the rifle with the buttplate and barrel band. The American walnut furniture is set off by intricate, deep checkering that will ensure a firm purchase on the stocks. A rsemi-buckhorn rear and ivory bead front sight accompanies a 20″ round blued steel barrel to deliver the accuracy you’ve come to expect from a Henry.
It all really begins with Colt ceasing their production of the Single Action Army in the early 1940s. This decision was made because Colt wanted to devote more time and resources to the war effort at the start of World War Two. No plans were in place to ever bring the old Colt SAA back. This left a couple generations of people who either grew up in the boom of the old west or younger ones who watched in romanticized and depicted in the golden age of film without an example they could easily go to a shop and pick up.
