This classic Star Super P (also known as Modelo Super P or PS) in .45 ACP is a rugged, Spanish-made semi-automatic pistol from Star Bonifacio Echeverria, S.A. of Eibar, Spain — a highly regarded 1911-inspired design with distinctive Star refinements that set it apart from the classic Colt Government Model.
The gun features a full-size 5-inch barrel, all-steel construction, and a deep, rich blued finish that still shows strong coverage with honest carry wear and character marks consistent with a well-preserved vintage piece. The slide proudly displays the iconic markings: “STARLINEA ECHEVARRIA S.A. - ESPAÑA - CAL. .45" along with the famous Star logo, giving it unmistakable Old-World pedigree.
Key upgrades of the Super P variant include the linkless barrel locking system (similar to the Browning Hi-Power for enhanced strength and simplicity), a convenient right-side takedown lever for easy field stripping, a loaded chamber indicator integrated with the external extractor, improved sights, a crisp single-action trigger, frame-mounted manual thumb safety, and a magazine disconnect safety. It lacks a grip safety, offering a clean, uncluttered grip profile.
The handsome checkered walnut grips (with that rich, figured brown tone) fill the hand beautifully and provide excellent control over the stout .45 ACP recoil. Magazine capacity is 7+1, and the pistol delivers reliable performance with a wide variety of factory or reloaded ammunition.
