Rossi R92 – 44 Mag – 16" Round Barrel – Side Gate – Barely Used
Rossi R92 rifles have always been fun to shoot. They’re a less expensive option than the Henry or Marlin brands, yet they perform very reliably. The rifle that we have on consignment (serial # 7CR109517T) is a 44 Magnum with a 16 inch round barrel.
Loading of the tube magazine is accomplished by using the side gate on the receiver. The magazine will hold 8 rounds. The rear sight is an adjustable buckhorn sight and the front is a fixed, brass bead. The rifle has a standard size loop. The finish is an attractive stainless.
The owner of this one tells us that he’s shot a total of 5 rounds through the rifle. Judging by the mint bore and barrel, we believe him. The rifling is also crisp and sharp.
The action is smooth and easy. The trigger is light with minimal takeup and a clean break.
The stainless, crescent buttplate is in pristine condition. The wood has a few minor storage and handling marks but still grades as Very Good. The only flaw that we find with the rifle is cosmetic. The left side of the receiver does have some scratches. Other than that cosmetic issue the gun seems good and tight.
If you’d like the fun of a lever action rifle in a great pistol caliber, this rifle is a good way to have all the fun but pay a fraction of the price..
