Scarce Winchester 42 .22 Hornet Rifle C. 1950
Offered here for sale and just acquired is this original SCARCE Winchester Model 42 bolt action rifle in DESIRABLE .22 HORNET caliber. The Model 43 was manufactured by Winchester Repeating Arms roughly from May 1948 through December 1953. It was offered in several chamberings including .22 Hornet, which this rifle is chambered for.
Typical barrel length for .22 Hornet Model 43s is about 24 ″. This rifle’s serial number of 28069A falls well within that 1950 production band. The .22 Hornet chambering was a popular choice for varmint hunting and small game.
This Winchester Model 43 in pristine condition. It appears to have seen very little if any use. Just some wear on bolt. Chambered for very popular .22 Hornet cartridge. Comes factory equipped with a fine Lyman rear target sight.
