The Brügger & Thomet APC223 PRO Gen 2 is a newer version of the original APC223 rifle, itself a development of B&T’s APC9. It is very suitable for home defense and other tactical situations. The APC223 PRO Gen 2 features a fairly compact, utilitarian design, and functions using the old reliable gas-piston, unlike the AR-15 which uses a variation of the direct impingement method. The gas system is versatile thanks to an adjustable gas valve. The rifle can accommodate a wide range of ammunition quality as well as allow for it to operate with a suppressor attached. B&T’s hydraulic buffer system helps keep recoil to low levels. The APC223 PRO Gen 2 has fully ambidextrous controls, a folding stock, and rail slots for attachments. This example is new in the box. The APC223 PRO Gen 2 comes from the factory with a Magpul MOE pistol grip. The barrel has a standard A2 flash hider. Both of these parts replace the older Gen 1’s proprietary factory pistol-grip and flash hider. As mentioned, the PRO Gen 2 utilizes an M-LOK compatible fore end with slots in the 3, 6, and 9 O’clock positions. This allows for the mounting of a variety of flashlights, lasers, and other accessories. The MBT tele-folding stock is similar to the stock used on the FN SCAR rifle. The word “tele-folding” indicates the stock is capable of both folding and telescoping. As an extra bonus, the gun is fitted with the Elftmann Tactical trigger system which features a high-end flat faced trigger. This allows for more leverage on the trigger, providing for faster and more accurate shots. The APC223 PRO Gen 2 comes with one 30-round Magpul PMAG, a factory soft carry case, a single-point nylon sling, a pair of polymer flip-up sights, and a cleaning kit. Naturally, as an SBR, this firearm requires ATF paperwork for the purchase and transfer of the firearm.
