Brass mounted. Relief carved stock. Engraved on the top of the barrel S (or J) BAUER A BRUCHSAL. 34 1/4 inch part round part ocatgon barrel. Roughly .65 caliber, seems to be rifled although the bore is very dirty. Lock mostly works but is very dirty, would work better with a cleaning. Seems to be missing one buttplate screw. Sliding wood patchbox. Gun shows wear but appears to be untouched. There were certainly many of these used during the American Revolution by the countless German and Hessian immigrants and mercenaries that were here. Roughly 49 inches long overall.
