A classic and all-original WWII pistol! Description: Standard configuration Remington Rand 1911A1 pistol with fixed front sight and drift-adjustable U-notch rear sight. The left side of the slide is roll-stamped with a two-line "REMINGTON RAND" address referencing its location in Syracuse, NY. The right side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" "M1911A1 U.S. ARMY" "No. "926201". Major components are Dulite blued over matte texturing. Small parts are blued or blued over a matte finish. The FJA inspector initials on the left side of the frame cut through the finish, as do the small "P"s on top of the slide and left side of frame along with the ordnance acceptance on the right side of the frame. Fitted with a blued High Standard barrel correctly marked "P" on the left side of the lug and "HS" on the right. Early style grips without screw head reinforcements. Correct blued magazine with five indicator holes and a floorplate marked "L" on the inner toe. Condition: VG+ original Dulite finish with sharp edge wear and general thinning as one would expect from a combat pistol issued in 1943 that served throughout the balance of World War II. Top of rear sight flattened/curved to ease holstering and prevent erosion through the leather. Grips with blunted checkering. Comparable condition magazine with insertional wear.
