Description:
Springfield Armory M1D, chambered in .30-06. Features include: semi-auto, 8 shot en bloc clip fed, gas operated, adj. aperture sight, wooden stock, scope mounts and scope. This M1 was manufactured originally in August 1944 according to the serial number. Some time later it was refurbished into an M1D variant. The stock cartouche appears to be AAS in a box which could be Augusta Arsenal and there is a P proof mark on the pistol grip. There is no date code on the barrel. A newer cheek rest was installed, but the rifle is missing its pronged flash hider. Stock has some small dings and scuff marks typical of use. Bore has good rifling. A Lyman Alaskan scope has been mounted to this rifle .30-06 Springfield
