Stock: Highly figured walnut with cheekpiece, fine wrap checkering, engraved steel buttplate & grip cap; factory cartridge trap in butt (felt-lined) holding three original NORMA 9.3×72R D cartridges
Decoration/Grade: Deep relief game scenes (stag/roe deer) with extensive scroll & rosette engraving throughout; gold monogram “C-E-B” in the grip roundel
Condition
- Bores: Excellent, bright—showing very little use
- Mechanicals: Tight lock-up, on-face; triggers, safety and extractors function properly
- Finish/Stock: Original period finishes with honest handling marks; engraving crisp and unsoftened; wood sound with no structural cracks noted
- Classic German “forest rifle” in a mild, nitro-proofed cartridge. Commercial ammo appears periodically (RWS/Norma); brass and bullets are available for handloaders.
- A superior example with master-level engraving, gold details, and the rare cartridge trap—far above typical guild grade.
