Description:
This is an orginal Ross Rifle  Sporter R-1910 chambered in .303 British. This is not a sporterized military rifle. The Model R-1910 is an updated version of the 1905 actioned Model R and was available in .303 British only. 26" Barrel, Magazine holds 5 rounds. Ross used sporting U adjustable rear sights sourced from Winchester. The trigger is the smoothest I have ever felt, I have not shot this, but they are reported to be highly accurate. Approximately 420,000 Ross rifle were made, mostly consisting of military rifles. Untouched factory sporters make up a very small fraction of that number making this a very rare gun. Bore is excellent, shiney and sharp. Comes with a small history  booklet titled "Sir Charles Ross and his rifle" by Roger Phillips & Jerome J Knap, Thanks for looking!

After searching values of original Ross Sporters on ChatGPT, this is the result...
For an original Ross Model 1910 (M10) sporter rifle, value can vary quite a bit depending on originality, caliber (.280 Ross vs .303), and condition. Based on current market data and comparable Ross sporters:
   Typical value range (2024–2026 market)
Excellent / near-original condition:
  $1,200 to $2,500+
Very high-end examples (rare configs, .280 Ross, exceptional condition):
   $2,500–$3,500+ possible
Average / good condition sporters:
   $800–$1,500
 Supporting data & context
Ross sporting rifles are generally more valuable than military sporterized conversions because they were factory-made hunting rifles.
Comparable Ross sporters (like the Model 1903) average around $2,800 in excellent condition
Blue Book of Gun Values
and historical listings show Ross M10-type rifles ranging widely depending on condition and originality, sometimes only a few hundred dollars for altered examples, but much higher for clean originals

Collector discussions and sales trends commonly place Ross rifles broadly in the $1k–$2.5k range depending on specifics
