If you‚ve been patiently waiting for a \"shooter quality\" pre-1898 Winchester 1886, your patience just paid off. Made in 1891, this rifle was originally chambered in .40-82 WCF, and was properly rebored to the timeless .45-70 Gov‚t at some point along its journey. The action is tight with minimal lever play, and reliably functions with modern factory .45-70 ammunition. Wood, barrel and receiver condition can be considered good by NRA antique standards, with handling marks common to firearms of this vintage, and no cracks in the stock or forend. Bore is bright and rifling is crisp. 26\" octagon barrel, with semi-buckhorn rear and post front sights.
