Description:
Ruger American Pistol Semi-Auto Pistol is a semi-automatic pistol that performs flawlessly in the most extreme conditions; and is comfortable and highly controllable to shoot with great accuracy. The Ruger American is a striker-fired, polymer-frame pistol, utilizing the Browning-type locked-breech action with a unique barrel cam modification that reduces recoil by spreading the recoil impulse out over time, resulting in reduced muzzle flip. The reduced recoil with the pistol's low center of gravity and low bore axis work in unison to enhance control during rapid fire. The steel trigger has a central trigger safety lever to prevent the pistol from firing unless the trigger is fully depressed. A short trigger take-up with an excellent reset aids in obtaining top accuracy. Novak® LoMount Carry front and rear 3-dot sights provide rapid sight acquisition and are unobtrusive when drawing the pistol from a holster. An integral MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail in front of the trigger guard provides an attachment point for aftermarket lights and sights. The slide stop, magazine release, and safety are ambidextrous. The pistol comes with 2 nickel-plated, steel magazines with black polymer followers. The pistol fieldstrips easily and safely, without having to depress the trigger first.
