Formerly of the Peter Derose collection, this truly one-of-a-kind Triple Lock Target is equipped with a 6 1/2” barrel, original high polish blue finish, adjustable target sights and checkered walnut gold medallion service grips. Per correspondence between Roy Jinks and Peter Derose, the gun shipped on April 7, 1908 to Marcus Hartley Co. in New York, NY. A very special and important first-year Triple Lock target which remains in excellent condition! The gun retains approximately 95% of the original high polish blue finish with a little thinning on the backstrap, very slight wear at the muzzle and some scattered minor handling marks. A period adjustable trigger stop has been tastefully added to the trigger guard. Knowledgeable collectors are aware of the rarity of any original Triple Lock Target model, and much more so of special ordered examples. Likely the only such example extant and a must own S&W for the serious collector. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
