The Remington Rolling Block rifle produced under the Egyptian military contract is a single-shot firearm chambered in 11.43x50R. It features a 33.5-inch barrel and the characteristic rolling block action design used in Remington’s 19th-century military rifles. The receiver carries Egyptian markings identifying its contract origin. The rifle is configured with a full-length straight-grip wooden stock secured by three barrel bands and fitted with its original metal buttplate.
Hardware includes an adjustable rear sight, though the vertical adjustment stop is missing. The bore condition is described as very good, showing clear rifling and shine. The action is mechanically strong, consistent with the robust design typical of the rolling block system. No serial number is present on this example, which aligns with production practices for certain antique contract rifles of the period. The overall appearance retains the functional layout and military pattern typical of late 19th-century Remington rifles supplied to foreign governments.
This rifle remains in used condition. The cleaning rod is included and fitted beneath the barrel. All major components—receiver, barrel, stock, and hardware—correspond to the Egyptian contract configuration.
