Description:
This very early Winchester Model 62 is a slide-action (pump) .22 rimfire rifle made by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1933. Designed as a modernized successor to Winchester’s earlier pump actions like the Model 1890 and Model 1906. Based on proven Browning design principles, with improvements for easier use and wider ammunition compatibility.
This was first year of the Model 62, with an early Serial number of 9427, a 23″ round tapered barrel, tubular under barrel magazine, straight walnut stock with a matching walnut 10-rib slide action pump handle forearm. Chambered in .22 short, long, & long rifle.
Condition: Overall condition is excellent.
Excellent bore-rifling-barrel, action locks up tight and is very crisp, bluing is very good with no pits, rust or orange peel. The walnut stock and pump handle are excellent, without blemish and have been hand rubbed with Birchwood Casey 'Tru Oil' and waxed. My apologies for the not so good photos by my cellphone.
It's been kept cleaned, oiled and in storage for some years. If you're looking for a keeper, this is it!
