Winchester Model 1894 rifle, caliber 32 Winchester Special, with special order 26" part octagon barrel, 1/2 magazine and takedown frame, plain walnut stocks, plain trigger, rifle butt with crescent steel butt plate, blued and case hardened finish; all special features confirmed by the pictured Cody Museum sheet (an official Factory Letter has been obtained and will be included with the rifle). Serial number 146139 was applied on May 14, 1902; rifle was warehoused on June 16, 1902 and shipped June 30, 1902 to order number 146012 with a return and repair on September 2, 1905 to order number 1634 (nature of return unknown).
CONDITION: Barrel and mag tube are 80% original blue/plum mix. Receiver 35% dull original plum blue. Hammer and lever show traces of original case colors. Take down is tight with no wobble and functions properly. Bore is a 9 of 10, shiny with sharp rifling, no pitting, minimal wear. Action is crisp with a properly working half cock safety and strong hammer spring. Stocks show expected nicks, dings, scratches and dents from years of hunting and target use. Sights are later replacements. 1902 was the first year for the 32 Winchester Special caliber. A nice, honest 1894 Winchester special order rifle to add to your collection.
TERMS: Antique firearm per the published Madis serial number list, which is what the ATF goes by, so can ship directly to you assuming your local laws allow it. New York State buyers must have the item ship to an FFL dealer only, no C&R. 3 day non-firing inspection. Buyer pays return shipping.
