Hammerless SPORTING Shotgun C&R AUTO-LOADING 4+1 Shot WOODLANDS/WATERFOWLING Piece Here Ancestry Guns presents a C&R Winchester Model 1400 MKII Semi-Automatic Shotgun, manufactured during its production run between 1968 to 1973 in New Haven, Connecticut. This gas-operated, semi-automatic shotgun built upon the foundation of the earlier Model 1400, adding improvements in both design and materials. The initial Winchester Model 1400 was introduced in 1964 as a more economical alternative to the higher-end Winchester shotguns. It was designed to be lighter and more affordable, making it accessible to a wider range of shooters. However, some early versions experienced reliability issues, thus leading to the introduction of the Model 1400 MKII. The Model 1400 MKII was introduced to address some of the shortcomings of the original model. Changes were made to improve the gas system, action, and overall durability. These improvements resulted in a more robust and reliable shotgun. While this improved model shared the same basic design as the original 1400, the internal enhancements were significant enough to warrant the “MKII” designation. The overall condition is fine.
