The Century Arms Inc. (C.A.I.) CETME Sporter is a civilian, semi-automatic rifle derived from the Spanish CETME Model C battle rifle, a design that ultimately influenced the famous Heckler & Koch G3.
This particular example—serial number C33147—features a two-tone finish, a 21-inch barrel, and is chambered in .308 Winchester / 7.62×51mm NATO, making it a powerful full-size rifle suitable for sporting or collection purposes.
The CETME Sporter operates using a roller-delayed blowback system, a distinctive mechanism known for reliability and simplicity under harsh conditions.
Originally engineered in post–World War II Spain, Century Arms produced these rifles in the United States beginning in the late 1990s by assembling surplus Spanish CETME parts kits with U.S.-made receivers to comply with import regulations.
