Up for sale is a beautifully crafted reproduction of the iconic Pietta 1851 Confederate Navy revolver, manufactured by F.LLI Pietta. This black powder revolver is a faithful homage to one of the most recognizable sidearms of the 19th century.
Condition
This revolver is in Very Good condition, showing minimal signs of handling. The metal retains a strong finish, and the brass frame has an attractive patina. The bore is clean with strong rifling. Timing and lockup are solid, and the action functions exactly as it should.

The original design of the 1851 Navy revolver comes from Samuel Colt, whose revolvers revolutionized repeating firearms in the mid-1800s. While the standard 1851 Navy was produced by Colt‚s Manufacturing Company, the Confederate version has a unique story rooted in the American Civil War.
Due to limited industrial capability in the South, Confederate armories—most notably the Griswold & Gunnison facility in Georgia—produced copies of the Colt 1851 Navy. These revolvers typically featured brass frames instead of steel, due to shortages of iron and steel, and were chambered in .36 caliber originally.
