Description:
The Jackson London flintlock boot pistol is a .38 caliber antique black powder firearm with a 2-inch smoothbore barrel. It was manufactured without sights and built in a compact, single-shot configuration typical of early pocket or boot pistols. The frame is engraved, marked “Jacson” on one side and “London” on the other, reflecting its origin. The metal surfaces, including the barrel and trigger guard, display a gray patina consistent with age and oxidation of the original finish.
The pistol is used and shows age-related characteristics throughout. The wooden grip remains intact and is covered with a wax-like substance. Several components are missing, including the flash pan cover, the top jaw on the hammer, and the rear tang screw. The action is non-functional, and the bore is dark from age and use. No serial number is present, which is typical for firearms of this period and type.
No accessories or additional parts accompany the pistol. The piece represents an antique configuration with engraved detailing and original construction features preserved despite wear and missing elements. All markings and physical attributes correspond to the Jacson London manufacture and period design.
