Description: The semi-automatic has always been a point of contention in hunting camp. They typically sacrifice some accuracy compared to a bolt gun. The larger magazines and unsightly lines of military descended semi automatics has also served to turn away potential fans. There are however, a few sleek semiautomatics for the woods; one such gun is the Winchester Model 100. Unfailingly Reliable!!!!!!! The Model 100 had a brief lifespan during a tumultuous time for Winchester. Originally introduced in 1961 as a companion for Winchester’s new box fed lever action, the Model 88, chambered in multiple calibers with .308 being the most common. The Model 100 managed to survive the 1964 overhaul at Winchester relatively unscathed. The only change of note was the switch from checkered to pressed checkering, which is not the end of the world and in no way affects its functioning The story goes that rising labor costs caused the discontinuation of the Model 100, whose production ended in 1973, no one knows the true reasoning. However, the good news is that we have one beautiful representation of that era, right here now, just waiting for you! *** no layaway offered at this time ***shipping MUST be to an open and current licensed FFL/dealer ***shipping will be actual shipping cost plus insurance ***3% for ALL credit cards SOLD Rifle Caliber: .308 Winchester Manufacturer: Winchester Repeating Arms Model: Model 100 Serial Number: 183565 Barrel Length: 22 Bore: .308 win Chambers: .308 Condition: VG Metal Condition: VG Wood Condition: VG Bore Condition: VG Action: gas-piston actuated rotating bolt design Stock: Old-School One Piece Wood American Walnut Fore End: Checkered American Walnut Butt Pad: Original OEM Finish: Satin Weight: 7.5lbs Sights: Front blade with ramp, mid sight Manufacture Date: 1961-1973 Engraving: Wood stock Extras: Sling, steel magazines similar to the model 88's Case: No Case Item Location: New Hudson, MI |
