***** CABIN FEVER SPECIAL - FREE SHIPPING *****

Winchester Model 1873 2nd Model SRC caliber 44 WCF, serial number 67860, made March 1881 and shipped August 1881 per the records on hand at the Cody Museum (email sheet isn't pictured but will be provided to the buyer). Standard configuration with 20" round barrel, full magazine, plain walnut stocks, plain trigger, blued and case hardened finish, brass trap door butt plate (no cleaning rods present), post front sight and early single leaf carbine rear sight commonly found on the 1st models and some 2nd models. As typical and correct, there is no caliber marking on the brass cartridge carrier or the barrel.

CONDITION: Barrel and mag tube surfaces have turned a deep plum and retain 70% coverage. Receiver is 50% same, with some cleaning in the area of the saddle ring and staple. The lever and hammer exhibit smoky traces of the original case hardening, otherwise show the typical nickel-silver color when the case hardening fades. Butt plate is a lighter gray. Brass trap door and cartridge carrier are uncleaned, having a medium mustard color. Stocks show typical/expected nicks, dings, bruises and scratches from 140+ years of use, with the back 2/3 of the butt stock showing the weathering checks in the grain flow. Stocks have never been cleaned, sanded or refinished. Action is crisp with a properly working half cock safety and a strong main spring. The bore is good/shootable, I'd rate a 6 of 10, with some sharp rifling but also typical black powder pitting and light rings, no deep craters and no bulges. All parts are original and correct. Grades NRA Antique Very Good. This is a desirable caliber and configuration that will bring years of enjoyment as an addition to your Winchester collection.

TERMS: Antique so it can ship directly to you at the address of your choice. New York State buyers must have the item ship to an FFL dealer only, no C&R, no exceptions. 3 day non-firing inspection. Buyer pays return shipping. Payment by personal check, bank check, or USPS money order only, sorry no credit cards, no electronic payments. Have a competent gunsmith give it a clean bill of health before using as it has not been test-fired. Packed with great care to survive the trip. Ships by FedEx Ground with tracking.
