33138-BRITISH VICTORIAN ERA TURN BARREL PERCUSSION BELT PISTOL BY JAMES BREWSTER LONG STRATTON,NORFOLK, ENGLAND CIRCA 1840’S-50’S. 11”o/a with 5 ¼” octagon damascus rifled .60 caliber turn off barrel with belt hook mounted on left side. Top flat engraved “BREWSTER-LONG STRATTON”. Scroll engraved box lock frame and barrel with Birmingham proofs. Checkered walnut grip. All original and very good overall. Working order and excellent bore. Brewster made rifles, pistols and shotguns in Long Stratton for most of his life (1809-1891) regarded as one of the best makers from Norfolk during the rule of Queen Victoria. Type of pistol carried by British Military Officer’s of the time and bored for the .60 caliber carbine precast bullets that could be obtained from Ordnance stores at that time. $700.
