33089-CIVIL WAR CSA CONFEDERATE ALTERED HARPERS FERRY U.S. MODEL 1816 PERCUSSION CONVERSION MUSKETOON. 38” musketoon length.69 caliber smoothbore barrel typical of the alterations carried out by Confederate States before and during the Civil War. Virginia alone had over 60,000 flintlock guns converted to percussion and altered in various ways including shortening to musketoon length for use by mounted artillery and other specialty troops needing shorter than standard length muskets. Has seen battle use but is handsome and has a very colorful Confederate style hammer. All original never restored and scarce Confederate altered Harpers Ferry Model 1816 conversion. $900.
