Description:
Up for trade, a nice prewar German double rifle on a petite action, chambered for the 6.5x58R Sauer proprietary cartridge. It features chiseled breeches, deep relief engraved animals to include the cartridge trap, and a gold inlaid "A" on the forend. The barrels were replaced in 1944 in Zella-Mehlis and proofed as such, and are in virtually brand new condition. The action is perfectly tight on face and functions smoothly, no sticky top lever or anything of the sort. The original optic is quite clear and snaps in perfectly. Overall a very nice gun in a harder to find bore when it comes to German doubles. Weight with optic 7lb 11oz, without is 6lb 13oz. LOP 14.125 to the front trigger, barrels 24.25 long.
I would mostly be open to trading this gun for Mausers, I have been searching for excellent condition 3/4 stocked Mausers, from any of the various Suhl makers, namely Schüler, Merkel, Triebel etc., and of course Oberndorf rifles as well, I also have an affinity for Stutzens, and collect Type S and M Mausers.
