Description:
Colt 1911 Commander Pre 80 Series Steel 9m
This Colt remains in high-condition. Manufactured in the year 1970, (Series-70) it was the first year of production for the steel Colt Commander termed; Pre-80 Series.
Bearing a low serial number in the first few thousand, the right side of the slide is marked "COLT'S COMMANDER MODEL", whihch was shortly thereafter changed to "COLT'S COMBAT COMMANDER",
The left side is marked "COMMANDER", "* MODEL *", "COLT", "9MM LUGER", "CALIBER" with the Rampant Colt. This was also changed to “COMBAT / COMMANDER”, “COLT”, “9MM LUGER / CALIBER” with Rampant Colt. (addition of the word COMBAT)
The piece is finished in Colt's high-polish with polished sides with matt rounds. This too was changed shortly after production to the flat, blued finish.
Chambered in 9mm. Piece comes with three Colt magazines. No box.
