RARE Antique Forehand Arms Company Large frame Double Action Top Break Revolver
6 Shot , 3 ¼ ” barrel , Nickel finish in .32 S&W. All original with matching numbers. Made for Black powder cartridges

Condition: 3 ¼” barrel with a very lightly oxidized bore and still showing very strong rifling. The metal surfaces still retain some of the original nickel plate with light oxidation in spots , some scratches , freckling and handling marks.
Original hard rubber factory grips feature a design around the escutcheons and the F&W banner and flag shield on the top are in good condition with chip repair done to the bottom of each grip. Please judge from the photos. All the appropriate parts are correctly numbered to the gun. Double and single action appear to work good with timing just a little off and some light cylinder play at lock-up.
Forehand Arms had produced a nice quality firearm and when Hopkins and Allen company had a factory fire in 1900 they acquired the Forehand Arms Co. This acquisition gave H&A a much improved product line. The new machinery dramatically improved the line and enabled them to produce a low priced good quality product able to compete with H&R.
The current condition of the item listed has been described to the best of my ability . Please examine the photos , text thoroughly and make sure to ask any and all questions.
Overall, this revolver is a good example of a rare and historically significant firearm from the late 19th century.
