The EMP Compact is built around Springfield’s shortened 1911 architecture tailored to the 9mm/.40 S&W cartridge length. In this .40 S&W chambering, it offers an 8+1 capacity in a slim, single-stack profile that remains true to the 1911 platform while optimizing dimensions for compact carry and handling.
Its 3-inch stainless steel match-grade bull barrel uses a fully supported ramp and a bushingless setup, paired with a dual-spring recoil system and full-length guide rod to manage recoil and maintain reliability in a short-slide format.
The pistol presents a two-tone finish: a forged stainless slide over a forged carbon-steel frame with Black Armory Kote. Ergonomic details include a flat, checkered mainspring housing, smooth front strap, and a checkered magazine release. The controls feature a left-side thumb safety and a grip safety with a memory bump.
