For your consideration, the Colt Army Special revolver chambered in .38 Cal. The Army Special was introduced in 1908, mostly to replace the current 1901 revolver used by the Army, though it never was adopted. It did become quite popular with civilians and law enforcement, and eventually the model was changed to "Official Police" in 1927. This model was manufactured in 1923. .38 Special
