The first thing the U.S. and Great Britain realized when suddenly thrust into WW1 was they did not have enough rifles, nor were they capable of producing them in the numbers needed. Remington arose to the challenge and re-tooled a train manufacturing plant and also built another one just like it and started making rifles in unprecedented nos. In two years Remington, along with Winchester, made over 2 million of these superb rifles as well as many British Enfield .303s. This rifle was based on the combination of a modified 1903 Springfield & Enfield design and turned out to be some of the best rifles ever manufactured. This rifle has been sporterized with a beautiful walnut stock. The action is slick and the rifling is very good. A Cabella's caliber specific 4-12x40 scope has been added thus making it a wonderful shooter as well as a collectible firearm. I will accept money order, bank check or personal check. Please add $75 for shipping.
