Here we have a Marlin Fire Arms Co. Model 1889. The receiver top is stamped "MARLIN SAFETY". The barrel is often marked "MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN, CT. U.S.A." with patent dates (1887, 1889) and "32 W." at the breech. The Marlin Model 1889 chambered in .32-20 (.32 WCF). Manufactured by Marlin Firearms Company, this early “Safety” model features the desirable solid-top receiver with side ejection, a hallmark Marlin innovation of the era.
