Description:
24 inch round barrel chambered in 44 WCF caliber with a shiny bore with strong rifling and a few scattered pits. Sights include a German silver blade front and sporting rear. Barrel and full length magazine tube have thinning fading blue with the balance fading to gray. Receiver has thinning blue with some tiny spots of corrosion. Some edge wear and traces of case colors on the hammer and lever. About 30% blue on the loading gate. Crisp functioning action. Walnut stock set is in good condition with some added finish over the scratches and marks. Rifle style buttplate with no cleaning rod in the trapdoor. Not a bad looking example of the Winchester rifle that won the west and was made in 1880.
