Description:
Winchester Model 1897 is in overall very good condition for its age. The metal surfaces retain a pleasing, even patina with thinning original blue that has transitioned to a smooth brown/gray tone. There are scattered light handling marks, surface wear, and minor scratches consistent with honest use, but no signs of abuse or heavy corrosion. The receiver shows typical edge wear and light cosmetic blemishes, as seen in the photos. The barrel markings are clear and legible, including the "Model 1897 – Winchester" designation. Externally the barrel presents well with even finish wear. Bore is bright and shiny. The walnut stock and ribbed slide handle are in good to very good condition, showing normal handling impressions, small dings, and finish wear consistent with age. The wood remains solid with no visible cracks or structural issues. 12 Gauge
