Description:
The Colt Police Positive was the first double action revolver with a hammer block safety, which they named the "Positive Lock" system. This one is in great shape for its age. It's chambered in .22 Winchester Rim Fire (WRF), which predates the .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire (WMR), and those two rounds are not interchangeable. The WRF round was more powerful than the .22 Long Rifle ammo that was available at the time, but later developments in ammo technology caused demand for the WRF to fade away. Research indicates that CCI still manufactures .22 WRF ammunition. This revolver has most of its original blue finish. The wood grips appear to be original and are also in great shape. The action is smooth, the cylinder locks up tightly, and the bore looks clean and bright. The adjustable target sights make this one an especially sought-after collectors' model.
